Antigua

What would we not give it to become a reality? Then comes holiday time and we all set out to unwind and make our dreams come true.

Antigua happens to be a place that once you have visited, will keep you day dreaming about it every busy day of your work. It has been aptly called a beach lover's paradise. The sun shines all year round and the lovely tropical patch remains just as colourful, no matter the season you choose to visit it.

Hydrophilics will fall in love with this place with the sparkling beaches, emerald waters, colorful coral reefs and a multitude of water sports and activities to indulge in. The island has 365 beaches. The statistics alone suggest a celestial place. There are even secret bays in the area if you want to experience some secluded awe for nature and its being. Water is mainly safe in all places, which makes it such a great place especially if you have children traveling with you.

You can also often find a secluded beach for just yourself. It is a divine experience to be on a beach alone, while the mighty sea roars and placates in front of you. It is your one on one experience with nature, and that too, nature at its best.

Now, you may want to lie just on the sugary white beach, admiring the blue tapestry of water or you might want to challenge the water, dive into it or participate in one of the many water activities in the area. The most intimate experience with the Caribbean on Antigua is perhaps the coral reef diving. You become one with the colourful plethora of fish as they scurry into nooks and crevices. The play of colour in the reefs is almost blinding.

Then, there is snorkeling. This is great to observe the marine wildlife of the sea at a close range. You may also be able to take boat tours to other islands that are nearby. You can also go kayaking. The best kayaking places are perhaps the mangroves of Antigua. Spot a stingray while on it or maybe even a turtle or two if you are lucky. Other water related activities that you may participate in include windsurfing, pedaloes, and sailing.

Another interesting and rather contemporary activity in the area is the Antigua Subcat. This is a submarine that tourists take which takes them into the depth of the sea and into the midst of marine life, all without getting wet. You may even be able to make eye contact with a shark through the submarine glass. Imagine that!

So go on, just buy some colourful beachwear and a good sunscreen, bundle them into your bag and fly straight on to your beach paradise, the one on this earth.
