Comprised of an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles offer a variety of experiences - all of them boasting a stunning oceanic backdrop.

The tropical climate the area boasts - the Seychelles are located off the coast of East Africa and northeast of Madagascar - means that many are drawn to the islands to enjoy relaxing beach holidays. However, there are plenty of thrills and spills to be found on in the archipelago too. For example, the temperate Indian Ocean is the ideal place for water enthusiasts to make a splash.

Windsurfing is one of the most popular options in the area, and the best time to have a go is typically around May and October at the beginning and the end of the trade winds. What's more, scuba diving, surfing, snorkelling and fishing are all on offer and can be indulged in from most of the islands in the Seychelles.

Those who prefer to enjoy the ocean in a more sedate manner will find it easy to locate yachts, power boats, catamarans or sailboats to help them explore the islands. There are also a number of guided walks and hikes around the islands so that visitors can witness some of their natural beauty on foot.

Other activities typically on offer on the Seychelles islands include golf, tennis and horseback riding, meaning you're sure to find your favourite way to keep active on a holiday to this stunning location. Culture vultures are also well catered to though, and the main island of Mahù boats an impressive total of six museums as well as botanical garden and a number of national monuments.

Seychelles doesn't skimp on the art galleries either, and any holiday makers searching for souvenirs will be happy to know that plenty of markets and shops will be found on the islands. The nightlife won't disappoint either, but the wonderfully under-populated beaches remain one of the biggest boons to the area. Flights to Seychelles will land at the Seychelles International Airport and from there it's easy to traverse the island with the help of internal flights, boats and taxis, meaning visitors can being enjoying the fabulous sights of the islands from the moment they first arrive.
